What is #KelpMovement?
We’re sea-deep in research, relationship building, and course-mapping to create momentum in the promising new space of regenerative ocean farming.
For those who aren’t familiar with regenerative ocean farming: it’s vertical underwater aquaculture with a mix of seaweeds (kelp—called brown seaweed) and shellfish.
Kelp has been widely identified as a key solution to climate change due to its powerhouse abilities to sequester carbon, rebuild marine ecosystems, and supply a zero-input sustainable food source.
In addition, kelp can be used as fertilizer, in animal feed (significantly reducing methane output of livestock), and as a base for bioplastics, biofuels, and many other compelling applications. The burgeoning kelp space supports the growth of a new workforce, while providing fishermen who have run out of fish in the oceans with a new livelihood at sea.
This is the new Blue Economy.

As a production company based in the “Ocean State” of Rhode Island, we have become passionate about this ocean-based climate solution.
This year we decided to contribute to growing the #KelpMovement through our 1% for the Planet commitment, supporting the Connecticut-based nonprofit GreenWave in their mission to train 10,000 regenerative ocean farmers over the next ten years, and catalyze the planting of one million acres of kelp to create meaningful climate and economic impacts.
Are you inspired yet? We were, and hope you’ll join us!
We will be sharing #KelpMovement updates and welcome your ideas, resources, and involvement as we bring our evolving vision into fruition. Please sign up below to connect with us and stay in the loop.
